First, thank you to everyone who has been supportive during our recent transition and changes.

Our mission continues
Cat Crusaders’ mission continues to be to rescue, vaccinate, spay or neuter, and find loving adoptive homes for stray and neglected cats. We also seek to reduce cat overpopulation through active engagement in trap-neuter-vaccinate-release (TNVR). Whenever possible, we will assist cats who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners. Additionally, we seek to increase public awareness of the companion animal overpopulation issue and provide solutions to end the killing of adoptable animals in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.

Restructuring Cat Crusaders’ TNVR program
We will continue to support trappers affiliated with Cat Crusaders.  When possible, we will help providing medical care for kittens and a pathway to adoption. The operations side of TNVR will be outsourced to Humane Society of Tampa Bay (HSTB). HSTB has contact with the area trapping network and the expertise and facilities to effectively run a TNVR program.

Maximizing limited resources to increase sustainability
While the manner in which we are engaging with the TNVR part of our mission has transformed, we nonetheless remain committed to reducing the cat population through TNVR. In light of recent changes, we have the opportunity to maximize the impact of our volunteer efforts.  This allows us to create a sustainable program, more efficiently engaging volunteer resources while minimizing burn-out. HSTB has been highly successful with its TNVR efforts. Our partnership with them enables us to effectively leverage their experience and avoid duplicating efforts, thereby enabling both organizations to have a greater impact together.

While there will be some minor adjustments, the TNVR work will continue. With the support of the community, we can all have a significant impact on the lives of cats.

Again, thank you for your continued support.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to anyone of the Cat Crusaders’ board members with questions, suggestions, and feedback.
